Athletics West is thrilled to launch the 2025-26 Athletics West Summer Season powered by Fuel to Go & Play. This streamlined and integrated model unifies the pathway from Little Athlete to Masters, offering a seamless experience for athletes of all ages.

🔷 Age groups have been re-branded! We want to emphasise that this change doesn’t affect our members; it’s simply a name change. We now offer U7’s through to U18’s, plus Seniors.

🔷 There are many advantages to this change, including:
🔹One Standardised Age Group Classification
🔹One Set of Competition Specs
🔹One Championship Structure

🔷 Little Athletes looking to join our centre this season will go straight into the U7 age group (formerly U6). All athletes will compete against those born the same year as them throughout BOTH the summer, and winter seasons. This seasons U7 athletes are born in 2020. Unfortunately our Centre doesn’t offer a Tiny Tot program but does offer a weekly fun race for young siblings.

🔷 Athletes in other age groups will remain with the same athletes they’ve competed with in previous years. However, they will effectively ‘skip’ an age group in name only. Athletes will still use the specifications of the age group they would have gone into if no changes were made. For example, if you were an U11 athlete in the 2024/2025 season, you will now be an U13 athlete in the 2025/2026 season, but you will use the specifications that the U12s used last season.

🔷 Athletes will now fall into these categories:
🔹Little Athletes U7-U12 (BORN 2020-2015)
🔹Junior Athletes U13-U18 (BORN 2014-2009)
🔹Seniors U20/Open/Masters (for athletes that have aged out and parents wishing to get back into athletics.)

🔷 There will be no changes to our centre competition each Saturday, despite the two categories in the name. However, there will be a few specific changes in throws for the U13 and U14 age groups!

🔷 All age groups will still get the opportunity to compete in end of season events at the WA Athletics Stadium. Even though this might look a little different this coming season, it is still an exciting opportunity for all!

Don’t forget! We also have a offer Seniors at Peel which our Junior athletes have the option of joining with a Dual Membership! If you only wish to compete at Strive, we also offer a Seniors only membership!
