CENTRE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Eligibility Rules for Centre Championships
THE STANDARD QUALIFICATION RULE
To qualify for Centre Championships, your child must meet these minimums:
• Complete that specific event a minimum of 4 times during the season.
• Compete in at least 2 competition days after the Christmas break.
EXCEPTIONS TO THE RULE (THE FINE PRINT)
• Illness or Injury (The Paperwork Heavy Route)
1. When to Act: You must notify the Records & Ranking Officer with documentation no later than 2 weeks after the illness/injury occurred. Late documents are rejected.
2. Required Documents (MUST-HAVE): A letter or Doctor's certificate from an independent consultant. The document MUST include the exact dates of the illness/injury. It MUST include an estimated time frame for non-participation.
• Final Decision: The Executive Committee makes the final call on eligibility.
LATE SEASON START
• The Clock Starts: "Commencement" is defined as the exact date and time your child officially registers.
• The Catch-Up Rule: The athlete must compete in the nominated event every single time it is held in the remaining weekly competitions after they registered.
CENTRE CHAMPIONSHIPS
• When: Conducted over a 2-week period near the end of the season.
• How to Know You're In: Only eligible athletes will have their names printed on the recording sheets on the day.
• Prizes: Medallions are awarded to the first three place getters in each event.
