Recording sheets
20 Nov by Peel Districts Committee
Recording sheets:
• Check what athletes are in attendance prior to start of event, put a tick next to the athletes name that are participating in the event.
• Leave the athletes that are NOT in attendance blank, PLEASE DO NOT DRAW A LINE THROUGH THAT ATHLETE’S NAME OR ATTEMPTS.
• Only U7-11 can use the numbered spikes, record that number on the left of the athletes name.
• Check registration number of athlete as they take their trial ensure result is recorded against correct athlete.
• When measurement is advised by Key official repeat it aloud to confirm that correct measurement is recorded.
• Distances are recorded to the nearest centimetre below the distance measured, if not a whole centimetre.
• When recording a failure ‘NJ or NT’ (No Throw/Jump) shall be written into that athletes attempt.
• When an athlete wishes to retire from an event put an ‘R’ into that athletes attempt.
• HIGH JUMP: When recording in high jump use a ‘O’ for a valid jump, an ‘X’ for a failure and a ‘—’ if the athlete chooses to pass on that height. Please do not put lines through the sheet once an athlete fails to move to the next height.
Staring heights are written on the sheets by Beki and highlighted, athletes are to come in at those heights NOT earlier.
For an example, please see the attached image. The sheet needs to be as clear as possible to determine the countback placings.
• IMPORTANT, If an error is made on the sheet the recorder and Key official must initial the correction.
• Ensure field sheet is signed by the key official and other parent helpers print their names and athletes name in brackets at the bottom.
• Return sheet to the announcers desk.
